Join us for our very first Flow Hive Harvest on 1 April 2017

Great news! Our bees have been busy making lots of delicious honey, and Cedar Anderson, creator of the wonderful Flow Hive, will be visiting on Saturday 1 April to conduct our first ever honey harvest!

It ‘s going to be a great day. The harvest will take place at about 9.30am, but the whole day will be devoted to bees. And not just honey bees, but all bees, including Australian native ones. There will be plenty of bee-loving experts on hand, giving talks on looking after bees, planting bee-friendly gardens, as well as bee-safe gardening products, especially pesticides. It’s well-known that bees are essential for pollination of many plant species, including fruit, vegetable and nut crops, and their survival is threatened. Each and every one of us has a responsibility to learn what we can do to help these little workers survive and thrive.

There will be talks and giveaways through the day, as well as fun activities for the kids. Anyone who purchases a Flow Hive on the day will receive a free Beekeeping smoker, valued at $80.

It’s a terrific opportunity to see how the Flow Hive really works, and why it’s captured the hearts and minds of beekeepers throughout the world. There’s lots of information circulating about the Flow Hive but this is a chance to see it in action, and watch the extraction of that liquid gold.
